About Dave Weston

As an elder, home fellowship leader, and Bible teacher for over two decades, Dave became aware that Christians had slipped from teaching the Good News of the Gospel of Grace into legalistic disempowering doctrines that have held people back from knowing God's love. Dave has developed an integrated study method that focuses on eliminating presuppositions and equipping believers to see what's really in the Bible (and avoiding seeing what's not in the Bible!).

In this video we reveal the complete list of steps for you to become righteous, as we look at 1John 2:1:

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1John 1:7 gives us a clue as to how we can be right with God:

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

This video takes a look at the phrase “freely given” in 1Cor 2:12 and Romans 8:32, and may challenge your beliefs about the character of God.
1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Two Grace Aware Bible study techniques are in this video:

  1. Looking up words that you think you know, and
  2. Seeing what's not there

The focus is the Christmas account found in Luke chapter 2:

Luke 2:9-11 NKJV - 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Have you ever had to drive on a familiar route, like on a road that you commute on, but you needed to make a different turn than you're used to doing? If you've ever driven to work when you meant to make a turn and go somewhere else, you've been conditioned! Conditioning can affect a great portion of your life - including your understanding of the Bible. ...continue reading "Conditioning – friend or foe?"

I've listened to many sermons teaching that if you're a believer and you're not "bearing good fruit," then God will cut you down and throw you into the fire, which is an obvious metaphor for being sent to hell. ...continue reading "Bear fruit – or Else!"

If you've been around Christians long enough, you'll eventually come across this strange teaching: "God requires obedience—even your very thoughts; You need to bring every one of your thoughts into obedience to be truly right with God."

There is an interesting teaching out there that uses John 12:32 to teach that ALL people will be saved. And that makes sense because God loves everyone, so it stands to reason that God would want them all in Heaven. The question is: is it true? ...continue reading "Will ALL people be saved?"

I had lost my car keys... again. I had help looking for them this time, and when we finally found them, my helper jokingly asked the rhetorical question, "Why are they always in the last place you look?" I stopped for a moment, and thought to myself, "Yeah, why is that?" ...continue reading "The Bible, and Looking for Car Keys"

The Bible was not originally written in English. Because of that, there is no "inspired" English translation. If there was, you'd immediately stop seeing new English translations hit the market. So how can we tell which translators "got it right?" Fortunately, with today's modern tools it's easier than you might think.
